Bringing fresh quality produce and local foods to a hungry community is what it’s all about for Shortline Produce Co.! Registered with the state as an Oklahoma Farm Hub, and housed in a 40’ shipping container, this unique place is always interesting to visit.

Offering local, in-season produce and stocking the staples you rely on, you can be sure to find something delicious every time you visit the Veggie Pod.

You will find the freshest fruits and veggies, Local honey, Farm-Fresh eggs, homemade sourdough bread, pickles, Award-Winning Jams and Jelly, beans, whole grains and other staples every single visit.

In spring, you can stop by and shop for plants and seeds. We stock vegetable seedlings, strawberry plants, herbs, flowers, hanging baskets and succulent planters. We also have vegetable seeds! All plants that produce food or seeds that grow food are eligible items for SNAP purchase.

Fresh Food for a Fresher You!

As the OLAC 2024 Local Agriculture Advocate Award Recipient, we understand how important it is to support our local Farmers and Producers. Your dollars support Local Agriculture when you shop at Shortline Produce Co. We give absolute preference to local producers, and stock local Oklahoma produce and products first.

What is a Farm Hub?

The Oklahoma Farmers Market and Farmers Hub Act took effect 11/1/2020, allowing a Farm Hub to serve as a farm-direct marketer. All state qualifications of a Farmers Market must be met; however, the producer/processor does not have to be present. Vendors must comply with all applicable city, county, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Grower-Members

All of our Grower-Members are residents of Oklahoma, most living in Cherokee County and surrounding Counties, and grow or produce in Oklahoma. Producers interested in future memberships are encouraged to call Loretta Merritt at 918-316-2939.

Plants and Seeds

In spring, we stock and sell seedlings, bedding plants, garden seeds, native and pollinator plants, berry plants, ornamentals, hanging baskets and patio planters (including succulents). We offer varieties that have been proven to perform here, and with OSU Master Gardeners on-site for advice, you can be certain your garden will be the most beautiful you’ve ever had.

What is Local?

We define a Local Product as originating within 150 miles of our Store. Local to us includes Oklahoma, and parts of Missouri, Arkansas, Texas and Kansas. We integrate co-operative regional distribution routes to reduce travel time, mileage and fuel consumption.

Demonstration Garden

We plant and maintain a raised-bed Straw-Bale Garden on-site, to inspire YOU to participate in Local Ag with your own Home Garden. Stop by anytime to view our garden, follow along and learn during the growing season, and plan to attend one of our free seminars!

Payment

Pay how you like! Cash, credit or debit card, check, SNAP (EBT), Cherokee Nation Farmers Market WIC (CN FMWIC), OK Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Cards (SFMNP). We use Square, and will accept most digital and hands-free/tap-to-pay payment methods.
